So last weekend I hosted an intimate Cuppa for CANSA with a few of my girlfriends, the aim was to challenge each of them to host a tea of their own and to talk candidly about Cancer, the scares, the impact and prevention. For me the biggest lesson of this year was to not underestimate the value of annual check ups and my advice is never miss one! EVER! This allows for early detection.
I hosted the ladies over cups of tea, homemade sweet treats and homemade ice teas. In case you’ve forgotten Le Creuset have a cuppa for cansa competition (see here) running where the Jozi Foodie Fix reader with the prettiest #cuppaforcansa high tea picture will win a R900 Le Creuset hamper. All you need to do is a host a Cuppa for CANSA, tweet your picture tag @jozifoodiefix @lecreuset and use the hashtag #cuppaforcansa before 31 October 2014.
If you can’t host a tea feel free to donate to CANSA through the JoziFoodieFix donation webpage here. The donations enable CANSA’s holistic care and support to those affected by cancer. You can get full details of how to host a cuppa for CANSA at http://www.cuppa.org.za
On the Jozi Foodie Fix Cuppa for CANSA menu; melktert, banana bread with butter, coconut panna cotta, lemon cake with Valhrona white chocolate and sour cream icing and thanks to Mokgadi Itsweng an amazing carb free mini carrot cake from Lotsha Foods.
